Katie Stodick
Much Ado Arabians & Sport Horses, Inc.

I grew up in a family boarding, training, and Arabian breeding business, where I began taking horses in training professionally at 13 years old, and worked as an instructor in a very large school horse lesson program all through high school. Summers were spent horse camping in central Oregon, along with competing locally in OHA, 4-H, and AHA shows, showing in a wide variety from over fences to side saddle. I also rose in the Portland Rose Parade 4 times with the Cross Roads Ladies' Aside group. Afterward I went on to work as an apprentice for local trainers specializing in English Pleasure, Harness, Western Pleasure, Hunter Pleasure and Reining. Much Ado Arabians was born in 1998, with a goal of providing a fun filled teamwork type environment for youth and amateur riders to enjoy their horses, with a hands-on approach.

In 2005 I was one of 8 instructors accepted to take part in a yearlong USDF Instructors' Training, where Lilo Fore declared me the “Go to trainer of the Region for young horses”, and I earned my U.S. Dressage Federation Associate Instructor title.  Myself and my students have amassed numerous titles both Regionally and Nationally in AHA shows in Sport Horse divisions including Harness, Dressage, Undersaddle, and In-Hand, with National Championships earned in First and Second Level Dressage, along with Top Ten placings in Training level.  We also compete in ODS shows, with top ten placings at the ODS Championships.  When we're not in the showing ring we love to hit the trails.

Katie with Wishes and her foalRiders enjoy lessons filled with gymnastics and arena patterns, with an emphasis on independent seat, respectful hands, and a clear and harmonious communication between horse and rider. Horses in training are worked exclusively by myself or the owner (no working students) to strengthen a bond, and to give each a horse a personalized and calm experience. I bring a varied background to a large variety of horses, having experience with multiple breeds and disciplines.

In addition, I am a carded OHSET, and Ladies' Drill Team Judge, and clinic regularly.  Much Ado Arabians also proudly stands at stud El Sabah Al-Khayr +, a 14'3 liver Chestnut Arabian stallion, with an extensive resume, including 2 AHA National Top Tens (sport horse and Dressage)

If you are looking for a laid back, have a good and successful time with your horse (or a lesson horse!) I look forward to meeting you!  I have a wonderful group of youth and adults that are like an extended family, (they have been known to get together for Sunday BBQ's and trail rides at the barn in the summers!)
