Keith Schramm
Alderbrook Farms

At age 15 he was World Junior National Youth Champion in Saddlebreds. After attending college at University of Oregon and South Oregon he became interested in the sport of Eventing.

Keith teamed up with his young bay horse, Tyzack. Together the pair cleaned up at top competitions on the west coast, then headed to the east coast for training with top eventers and more competition. There he continued to do well, training for the US team and continuing to compete successfully.

While heading for the USET selection Trials for the 1984 Olympics, Tyzack took a bad step coming off the trailer, injuring his suspensory ligament. This accident ended Keith's Olympic dream. With his Olympic hopes dashed, Keith continued to ride, train teach and compete. Prior to coming to Sherwood Forest he operated his Alderbrook Farms out of the Lake Oswego Hunt Club, where he had been President, vice president and manager at one time or another. In 1990, he was named the full time event instructor and trainer.  His favorite part of the job is working with people. He enjoys teaching people more about themselves through riding and horses help him do that.  Keith has trained many riders who have continued to go on and have successful careers.
